Julia Bergfort is a freelance artist and illustrator, currently located in Germany.
Since she can hold a pencil she loves to bring characters to life on paper. After achieving a degree in illustration she decided to make her passion into her profession.
Telling stories through paintings and evoke emotions in the viewer is one of the most important motivations behind her work.
The balance between figurative and abstract creations, realism and fantasy is an essential part of her art. In her detailed watercolour paintings and drawings she confronts herself with topics like the subconscious, transformation, lonelyness, autonomy and heteronomy or social norms. She finds inspiration for her work mainly in literature, music and nature.
